Registration for Interlaboratory Studies (ILS) by the Forschungsgemeinschaft Feuerfest e. V. (FGF) for the refractory industry, committed suppliers, customers, testing laboratories, and research institutions.

Interlaboratory Studies (ILS) are anonymous proficiency tests for laboratories that enable an objective assessment of the precision, accuracy, and comparability of test methods. Their purpose is to validate laboratory results, support accreditations (e.g., according to ISO/IEC 17025), and contribute to the development of standards.

Confidential Evaluation: The results of the participating laboratories are presented anonymously in the comparative overall evaluation. Each laboratory receives an individual and confidential results report.

Sample Provision

Provision and shipment of homogeneous samples to the participating laboratories. One refractory brick per material will be shipped, totaling four bricks made from different materials with varying strengths. The preparation of test specimens is the responsibility of the participating laboratories.

Evaluation & Report

Statistical evaluation of the submitted test data and creation of individual and confidential reports.

Legal Framework

These conditions apply to the Cold Crushing Strength (CCS) Interlaboratory Study 2026/2027.

Show cancellation, payment deadlines, and cancellation conditions

Cancellation

Free cancellation is possible up to 30 days before sample shipment (02.10.2026) and must be submitted in writing via email to ILS@fg-feuerfest.de. For cancellations 15–29 days before sample shipment (13.09.–01.10.2026), a cancellation fee of 50% of the participation fee will apply. From 14 days before sample shipment (from 18.10.2026) or in case of non-participation without cancellation, the cancellation fee is 100% of the participation fee.

Payment Deadlines

The invoice will be issued immediately after registration (from 15.08.2026) and must be paid within 14 days net. If payment is outstanding by the sample shipment date (01.11.2026), the participant will be excluded, and a cancellation fee of 100% of the participation fee will apply.

Participant Numbers

The implementation of a test method requires a minimum of 10 participating laboratories. If this number is not reached, the FGF reserves the right to cancel the interlaboratory study and inform participants by 17.10.2026 at the latest. Paid fees will be fully refunded in this case.

Cancellation by FGF

In the event of unforeseen circumstances, such as failure to meet the minimum number of participants or technical issues, the FGF reserves the right to cancel the interlaboratory study. Participants will be notified in writing at least 14 days before sample shipment (by 18.10.2026). In this case, the participation fee will be fully refunded. There is no claim for compensation for damages or reimbursement of preliminary expenses, such as internal preparations.

Note on Binding Registration: By submitting this form, you acknowledge the costs of 1,600 € net plus VAT and shipping flat rate as binding. Please verify all information for accuracy. This is a non-accredited interlaboratory study. Accredited versions are planned.
